Prof. Dr. Dirk Helbing is Chair of Sociology, in particular of Modeling and Simulation, in ETH Zurich, and the Scientific Coordinator of the FuturICT Flagship Proposal.

Prof. Steven Bishop is the formal Coordinator for the FuturICT Pilot Project. This means that he works closely with Dirk Helbing, who scientifically leads the project, and manages the coordination across the broad community and with the EC.

Prof. Dr. Paul Lucowicz is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Passau, where he holds the Chair for Embedded Systems.
WP2 - Interconnected observatories of society for a resilient and sustainable future
Dott.ssa Rosaria Conte is head of the Laboratory for Agent Based Social Simulation, which hosts a highly interdisciplinary research group working at the intersection among cognitive, social and computational sciences, within the ISTC (Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies) at the Italian National Research Council.
Rosaria is also the former president of ESSA (European Social Simulation Association) and AISC (Italian Cognitive Science Association).
WP5 - Flagship infrastructure
Felix Reed-Tsochas is James Martin Lecturer in Complex Systems at the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society, and a founding Co-Director of the CABDyN Complexity Centre. His academic background and training is in theoretical condensed matter physics, and his research focuses on developing an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the dynamic and functional properties of complex networks in different contexts.
WP6 - Dissemination and Stakeholder Liaison
JB McCarthy is the Development Director of the Financial Servcies Innovation Centre (FSIC) in University College Cork, Ireland.
